Tom O'Brien

I'm curious whether people think we could get Tom O'Brien from NC State. I'm not sure what he is paid there, but maybe we could lure him away.

Right now NC State is ranked #23 and. If not for a 1-point loss at Clemson, they'd be 6-1 in the ACC.

O'Brien's Boston College teams went to 8 bowls in a row - winning 7 of them. IMO BC would be a much harder place to recruit to than Minnesota.

Plus, he seems to be a high quality human being. He played at the Naval Acadamy and went on to serve in the Marine Corps. He is currently on the board of directors for Toys For Tots.

I understand he may not be attainable, but I sure hope an effort is made.

He's been high on my list from the beginning, but I haven't heard much mention of him. Thoughts?

Have you ever heard him talk, seems like a good guy but is definitely not going to inspire the fanbase. I could literally fall asleep in the middle of one of his speeches.

I posted a thread with his name about a month ago, and most Gopherholers were not impressed with the name.
