Todd is th HS coach at Richfield and his son is the Left Tackle for NIU. He was on this morning to talk about Kill.

Quick comments-

His son was 6-6 and an All-State Hockey player who played football. Kill developed him into an excellent Tackle.

Chicago/ Georgia/ and Florida are his hot spots for recruiting.

Has a kid from Georgia who was 6-6 football player, state champ wrestler, and went to state in Tennis. Kill found him and developed him into a great player.

When Kill came to NIU, penalties went down every year to the point of #1 in MAC and top 10 in country this year. Graduation Rates went up.

Olson said Kill will have the HS coaches behind soon if not right away.

It is my impression that the high school coaches are going to love this guy. Down-to-earth X and O, grit and gristle kind of guy who seems genuine and interested.

Was good to hear that guy's comments.

Two best parts: penalties went immediately down for NIU when he showed up, and confidence that local coaches will like him.

Todd was former head coach at Edina HS as well and he does not sugarcoat much. Good assessment.

Colorado, Indiana , Minnesota

moved.

Have you ever been to Dekalb or Sterling Il? this place is Valhalla compared to that wasteland. Folks in the mid 1850's had the pick of land at $1.25 an acre and quickly grabbed WI and MN land instead of that treeless, lake free flatland.

Wasn't $1.25 a lot of money in the 1850's? And I believe that Minnesota was being homesteaded back then, which meant that people were coming to Minnesota for free land. I don't have a lot of experience with that part of Illinois. I spent 9 months in Illinois at Chanute Air Force Base, not far from the Illini campus. I think the state tree was corn.
