Today I am an Iowa fan

It all comes down to how confident we are. If Illinois and the Gophs both win out, then Illinois gets the tiebreaker and we drop a spot, so an Iowa win helps us by giving us a chance to finish higher than the Illini. However, if we think we might stumble, this win for the Hawkeyes could also put them back into the mix.

I think we win out, so I am (as much as it sickens me) cheering for Iowa to give us the help we need to grab that 6 six seed.
 

Okay you guys have convinced me. Today the Hawkeyes are my favorite team. Go Aaron White and their coach with the great hair.
 






I can root for Iowa but I can never root for the badgers...
 




Go Illini and than in their next game go buckeyes. I can never root for Iowa, plus if Illinois wins I think it forces the gophers to stay focus and motivated.
 

Wind farms will work well in Minnesota, because Iowa sucks and North Dakota blows.

I have actually enjoyed my last 6 years here in Iowa, it's not all bad. I don't mind rooting for the Hawks tonight if it gets us a better seed.

We are 1-1 vs. IU. They are 1-0. Better winning precentage versus the highest seeded team (assumes IU hangs on for the title).
 

I hate Iowa, but I've noticed a shifty looking guy on their staff that intrigues me. I swear this guy played a Russian mob boss in some bad 80s movie.

How can any Gopherfan ever say they hope the Badgers or Hawkeyes win. I could care less if they're Big Ten or it moves us up a spot. Those two Universities and their teams just suck @ss!

And that's where we're different. My love for the Gopher doesn't make me hate anyone else. Does it need to to make me a "real" fan in the Book of Parski? I couldn't care less.
 

We're half a game clear of the bottom half. Gotta win tomorrow and create real distance now.

I'm a little more willing to root for Iowa than the Badgers. If Wisconsin had played Illinois, I would have rooted for Illinois and then hoped OSU took care of them in the last game. I can cheer for Wisco if it helps the Gophers, but it needs to be a much more direct connection to Gopher success (like a hypothetical situation where Wisconsin knocking of Nebraska would put us in the Rose Bowl)

At the very least, can you acknowledge the Gophers being a half game up on Illinois as a silver lining to an unpleasant Iowa win?
 

That was an ugly game. I can't figure Illinois out. There three guards can look really great on some nights and then very average on others. Last night Iowa kept their guards from driving to the basket and they just resorted to bombing from outside.
