Joel needs to go. I had this post on the BB forum last winter and got roasted by the Gopher purists. Sorry gopher puritans and elitists with your heads buried---the U of M will never be able to compete at major Athletics and revenue sports that matter with Mr Maturi at the helm. This is big business.
Look at the facts
1) football is down ,
2) Hockey Down
3) Men's basketball--well let me say that Joel is on the verge of screwing up this program---where is tubby's extension? Practice facility?? his handling of personnel matters is questionable, must I go on??
4) Womens basketball-Joel took a great budding program and made it irrelevant again.
5) The non-revenue sports that very few people care about are doing well! Those teams also suck cash from the rest of the program and do nothing to make the U of M substantially better. They can have many of them as club teams and have the same neeffect for the University.
Joel should go become AD for the Johnny's or Bethel - He is a light weight who is way over his head. He and Brewster should both resign together........
