Timing on S-canning Brewster

Assuming that the decision has been made to kick Brewster to the curb, when do they pull the trigger? PR 101 is schedule the presser in time for the evening news, but
Maybe they're waiting until the team is back home. This would be the decent thing to do, and the story still gets on the 10pm broadcast

I doubt they do it Sunday, as then you are competing with the vices &nfl for attention. It would look pathetic if the story runs on page 4 of the sports section. But if they wait till
Monday to confiscate Brewster's whistle (assuming he hasn't swallowed it)
it gives the interim coach a really short week to prepare for PSU. Oh well, you can count on a fustercluck in situations like these with the University of Minnesota

Regardless of whether "the rumor" is true, Maturi will have to address it some time soon.

There are a number of things he could say, I would think the most likely would be:

1) It is obvious that we are not headed in the desired direction, so Brewster has been advised that he will not be the HC in 2011. or...
2) I know that there have been rumors/speculation out there, but nothing positive can be gained by making coaching changes at this point in time.

When is the earliest that people think we will hear some kind of official word out of the athletics office? The latest.

I would think that the earliest could be this evening (but I doubt that it would happen until tomorrow afternoon so that he and Brew can have a private chat first). I think the absolute latest we'll hear anything would be Monday afternoon.
