Timeouts - observation

I am reading the threads on how the crowd isn't into it like in the 90's. Could this have a lot to do with the teams having 5 timeouts each plus the 4 TV TO's each half? I don't remember when the TV timeouts began but they mess with the flow. At least once last night a team TO was taken at say 4:38 and then a TV TO at 3:52 after one sequence. Drives me nuts!!

I think that was a strategy of Bruce Weber's to try to dampen the crowd and our momentum. He did it 3 times.
 


I know they aren't new

I am wondering if due to every game being on TV now vs only some in the 90's, does it help take the crowd out of the game?
 

There were still the same # of TV timeouts in the 90's, even for games that weren't on TV.
