They weren't able to show the video before the player introductions in the past because they always introduced the teams "alternately." Perhaps they're trying--unsuccessfully--to fire up the crowd by copying teams that have all sorts of pyrotechnics, dimmed lights, spotlights, canned music, etc. before their player introductions. Hopefully, during B1G games, they'll go back to showing the video before the team's entry onto the court, when it did seem to excite the crowd in anticipation of the team's entry to the sounds of the Rouser. It has done nothing to the atmosphere to show the video before the player introductions. This is, indeed, a strange change in tradition.
