on the farm. They can swap stories about the thriiling days of yesteryear. Then they can have a few brews over the pending harvest. Sitting with a Kentucky fan and he said the biggest thing that drove the fans bonkers was his total lack of emotion during the games when it came to the officals and questionable calls. In the last couple of minutes when Rodney got just hammered on a followup shot Tubby did nothing to really get in the officals ear. And it is getting progressively worse. When they panned in on Tubby at the end of the game he looked like he was attending a church social. The Kentucky fan laughed and said: That's Tubby and that aw shucks look is one of the reasons he is not coaching here. You have to fight for your players to get the calls. I just don't the desire is there guys. He should activate the AARP card and move down the yellow brick road.

Dude he lost his senior point guard and Joseph decided he would rather party, not represent the U the way the wanted athletes to represent them, and decided to transfer instead of shape up. From some of the stories I've heard, I'm glad he is gone. If they have Nolan, they are probably 11-5 or 10-6 in the big Ten instead of 6-10.

Maybe, just maybe after the first five or six games without a point guard he could have decided to try something different. It's obviously not working. Start Dawson at the point for all I care. Try something new. What you're doing now is getting you beat and it's become painful to watch.

He is playing the team he feels gives them the best chance of winning. It's not like they are getting blown out, but believe me, he is trying everything he can to get them to win.

ethomasp, right on. Tubby misses the shots. Tubby misses the free throws. Tubby misses the rebounds. Tubby turns the ball over. Tubby is no point guard.

I agree, BUT there is no one on this roster that capable of stepping up. Sorry, but there are questions about Tubby and his recuriting, his style of play that young players don't like and his relationship with the media. Is it time to fire him, no but it is time to question him.

One problem with your statement.

Tubby is NOT one to be questioned. He gets very defensive and will tell anyone that questions
him that he is the expert, he has been doing it this way 30 years and most of all he is not
about to change. He will find fault with his players or something but you can bet he will not
be open to the suggestion that he should try something different.

Brilliant.

Tubby has no responsibility for losses, only wins.

Ship him out; I've seen enough. The character stuff (his, I mean) are the final straw. Tubby Smith is being paid a Cadillac salary here and performing like a Yugo (or at least an AMC Gremlin). We missed with him. Hire Dutcher's kid from San Diego State and move on.

Enough with the no emotion BS...He went bonkers yesterday. Something flew out of his mouth and I don't think he was chewing gum

This thread was started by a genius who forgot where this program was when the "great" Munson was here hanging up banners and elevating our program to a national stage. Like it or not Tubby should be here and has moved us forward. This team was hit by a huge wave a bad luck these past two years. Granted this team could have quit and not even competed by this team has been in the tournament talk the entire year until yesterday. Question Tubby's recruiting but here is the thing these are college kids and their character and behavior are developing. It would be awesome if no one transfered but they did. It would be awesome if one of your freshman point guards could start right away but that's not why he was brought here. This team will be better next year and into the future and Tubby has put this team in a good position to do this. So before you run out an awesome proven coach, remember the bum that coached the football team recently and also how poor this program was before Tubby. We have struggled this year and it has been disappointing but that's nothing unique for us. Screw on your heads straight and be a real fan. Not a whathaveyoudoneformelately bandwagon idiot that no sports team needs.

Tubby's a multi-millionaire. He may OWN farms but he won't work on one like Clem The Gem (his college nickname BTW).

The "lack of emotion" is pure, unadulterated BS from the UK fan. The reason he isn't coaching at UK is that he chose to change jobs.

Kentucky was 263-83 (76%) under Tubby. They are 95-38 (71%) since he left UK.

Please remember that 2 years of that 71% was under the watch of Billy the drunk.

Regardless UK has gone downhill after Tubby left. The Cats were 131-40 (77%) in his last 5 years.
