Tim Miles gets $1.2 Million plus at Nebraska.

Assuming the worst (Nebraska gets better and we stay the same or get worse), any chance he jumps ship to Minnesota in the future if we offer?

Although not unheard of, staying in the same conference especially in the B1G, is pretty rare. I fear the U.S.S. Tim Miles has sailed for the Gophers.

It is unusual. The only one I can think of is Tubby (GA to KY).

I'm sure he would think long and hard if we offered to double his salary.

It will be a long time before Minnesota ever pays a basketball coach above 3 million, they can't even afford a practice facility today.

1,200,000 x 2 = 2,400,000

2,400,000 < 3,000,000

1. 2 million is year one of the contract and ends up in year seven at over 2.1 million. So unless the gophers plan to hire him the next two years it would be over 3 million to double his salary then, which would never happen.

I see my boy Tim Miles is off to a decent start in recruiting. 3 - 3 star players signed for next year already. THis guy will make noise in the big ten conference in a few years.

You know, other schools like IU, MSU, Mich, Purdue, and OSU often have several guys on their team every year that are better than 3-stars. And UW doesn't have many 4- and 5-stars but they are always in the upper echelon of the B1G. If you get a team of 3-stars, you are going to be in the middle of the pack at best, and I wouldn't say that would be "making noise" in the Big Ten.

Miles lost out on a 4-star recruit from Omaha that wasn't all that highly rated (in the 80's of the top-100), a player that he badly needed to help establish his program. And he's in a state that doesn't produce a lot of in-state talent. Of all times for Miles to be able to win a recruiting battle for a top-100 big man, it should've been Agau - new coach, new facilities, a true fresh start for NU, and he was a rare in-state product - after losing Agau, it's hard to expect Miles to be able to get any top-100 frontcourt players anywhere. Without them, it's going to be tough sledding in the Big Ten. It is a tough job to win at Nebraska in basketball - you've got to find guys who aren't 4- and 5-stars who can help you beat teams that do have the stars. I know they have a point guard in Tai Webster who should be a star, but I just don't see the talent outside of him to make noise in the Big Ten - and the thing that makes winning in college basketball even harder is when you have a star they could turn pro after any given season, and if they do you're rebuilding at a place like Nebraska.

Not picking on you, but many claim Tim Miles is better than Tubby.

Tim lands 3 3-star recruits = making noise.

Tubby lands 2 3-star recruits the year after a 4-star = fire tubby, this program stinks, he's awful.

I don't get it ...

Tim Miles hasn't ever won a National Championship.

Nebraska has never been good at basketball.

Tubby should be recruiting better than him but I'll take beating them twice this season instead.
