All jokes aside, I've never seen a fan base turn on a coach so quickly as have the LSU faithful. Just a couple of years removed from a national title and you get this choas:

Honestly, with Les Miles' name coming up here so often as a replacement for Brewster, I'm surprised it took so long for someone to bring this up. The last 10 seconds of that game were unbelievable. It's absolutely on Miles -- inserting a rushing QB to run the ball without telling him to get everybody lined up to spike the ball in the event he didn't score. Than having that much time run off before they got settled.

And there was a similar bonehead play a few year ago. LSU was behind and ran one more play without calling a timeout. Time expired during the play, but fortunately for him, his receiver caught a 30-yard pass in the end zone.

Brewster hasn't done anything as stupid as these two things.

Les Miles is the college football mad scientist. The problem is that the ramifications of his crazy idea not working doesn't cross his mind. It results in moments of pure joy or pure shock and pandemonium. It is the constant swings that the fans can't stand and the fact that they happen what seems like 3-4 times a year. He also hasn't been able to beat Nick Saban.

5-0, 3-0 in conference play and they want him out. Better yet we as Gopher fans are stating that we don't want anything to do with him either. Perhaps the mad scientist should try some of those experiments in practice rather than big time conference games. LSU was lucky that the Vols pulled a Vikings + 1 on the last play of the game. I'm in agreement, yes I posted I would take Richt, but I don't think my heart could handle the rollercoaster that is Les Miles.

If we were 5-0 with 3 conf wins I think I could handle his roller-coaster ride style coaching. I just want wins, I dont care how they come!!

I would take wins any way the gophers can get them. It is how Miles loses that drive you crazy.

It seems like Les' game management skills are in near constant question, which is shocking given the fact he did win a championship and that he coaches at one of the top football factories in the nation. The fans there are livid with him, and it all seems over the most remedial of stuff, such as usage of timeouts, use of the clock, use (or non-use) of challenges, etc etc etc.

He's a hell of a coach, but in some ways it seems he just doesn't quite 'get it'.

When you think you are smarter than everyone else, you don't think those issues matter since you can overcome them with your superior trickery/plays. See Mike Martz.

Les has unforgivable clock management skills. He puts together great talent into dominant defenses but he doesn't have a clue what to do as an offensive coach. If saddens me when I think how close he was to being Michigan's Coach. That would have been nice.

Good point.

Miles is 5-0 and 3-0 in the SEC, his presence at Michigan would not be nice, I'd rather get in a shoot out with Rich Rod than never cross the 50 against Miles.

Also for those that responded to my post about not wanting to be on the Miles rollercoaster after further review you are right, I'd rather ride a rollercoaster and win a national championship than ride a pony around the Nobles County Fairgrounds in the rain.

I was the first to say it - and I've been trumpeting it for 3 years now on Gopherhole - Les Miles is an absolute moron with an IQ well below that necessary to be a top coach. I knew it from the moment he let the clock run down in the 2007 Auburn/LSU game and luckily for him the team scored the TD with just a second left - leaving a TO on the board and in position for a 40-yard FG to win! WTF!!!!

This is just one of the many ridiculous examples. His teams win IN SPITE of his ridiculous decision making. I want him nowhere near the city of Minneapolis unless it is being a coach of Wisconsin or Iowa.

If people here are upset with Brewster calling a couple of draw plays in a 2 minute situation, think if you had to endure the mind-boggling decisions of that idiot time and time again. It really is stunning he hasn't been run out of town yet. I get mad watching him coach and I'm not a fan of LSU at all!!!

I think Miles is a much worse gameday coach. He probably is better at cultivating talent, but it's hard to say because LSU was so strong when he took over and they get such an extreme amount of talent.

If the end of the NWestern game got on your nerves, you don't have the stomach for a Les Miles coached team.

PS: I get that he is 5-0, I don't think that would quite translate to MN.

Get real, at this point we should be happy with the Marching Band Drum Major as our new coach! Les Miles would be LIGHT YEARS ahead of what we currently have.

I would not want Les Miles here. He has so many advantages at LSU in regards to in-state talent, close proximity to Texas, and fan support that he will likely never have here. I think a better representation on how he might do here would be to look at his record as head coach at Oklahoma State.

I'm not comparing him to anyone. The fact is that he is clueless, and you can't debate it. The evidence speaks to itself.

Even worse he either has no idea he is incredibly stupid, or chooses to try to hide his ineptitude.

All I can say is "WOW"! If that was Brewster I would want him fired before he got back to the locker room. That has to be one of the worst displays of clock management ever. Then Les tries to lay blame on the qb when Les was clearly telling the qb to spike the ball with 1 second left. That is shameless. I do not want a coach that will throw his player under the bus to save his own hide coaching my beloved Gophers.
