This game is a living example of why there are too many bowl games. The Cotton Bowl is not even half full. Why was this bowl added when there are all ready too many of them?
I guess playing on New year's Day just doesn't have the same luster that it used to. What did Northwestern finish this year, 6-6? Then we have 7-5 Penn State and Michigan playing today as well. I don't believe either one of them had a winning confernece record. I suppose both being helmet schools had soemthing to do with it. Even though Michigan has been mediocre for several years now. I remember when the Gophs finished 9-3 in 1999 and we STILL didn't get to play on 1/1.
