Has the U posted about tickets sold yet? I know we probably won't reach WSU levels of fans, but it'd be nice to know how many gophers will be there (roughly, since most alum in the nearby area may not buy tickets through the U)?

Glanced at Stub Hub, ticket sales through there look pretty even (though I didn't look too hard), with an edge to WSU.

I'll admit, I bought mine on StubHub. $105 through the U of M or $30 through StubHub, wasn't a tough call.

I was debating going StubHub/SeatGeek, but I did end up going through the U. I sent in some seat requests though, so we'll see if they're able to come through. The ticket office did let me know that they received my requests and noted them.

I know it's difficult with road games, but hopefully they do find a way to go with a seat allocation & selection process for selecting bowl game seats in the near future...

Seattle Times reports that Minnesota has only sold 2500 of their 7000 seat allotment.

I guess we can take back our reputation for traveling poorly.

To bad, the Citrus Bowl turnout was outstanding.

Will have to depend on the snowbird's on this one ( Arizona , California ) The State of Minnesota has decided to say: "Fu-k the Gophers"

per the Seattle Times:

Ticket sales slow for the Golden Gophers

According to Minnesota’s athletic department spokesperson, as of Tuesday night, the Golden Gophers had sold about 2,500 tickets for the Holiday Bowl.

WSU’s ticket sales number stood at 7,500 by the end of last week, with the school having requested an extra 1,000 tickets from the Holiday Bowl after selling out their initial allotment of 7,000 tickets within the first 48 hours after the bowl game matchup was announced.

Go Gophers!!

I bought my tickets through the U and have my flights all set to San Diego. This will be my 5th bowl (maybe).
I know I'm going to take heat for saying this, but I am considering not going to the game (I have to go to San Diego because everything is paid for).
I am very disappointed in the players that, at best, had gang sex with a woman and, at worst, gang raped a woman. As a decent human being, I cannot see how anyone can defend a 2nd, 3rd, 4th... person taking turns. I know there are a lot of you on this board finding ways to rationalize why this shouldn't result in player discipline. I wonder how many of such people are parents.
Anyway, the conundrum for me is whether it is better to support the remaining players who did nothing wrong than it is to protest those that dis (and the coaches - like Sawvel - who are acting like the football players are victims here).
So, I'll be in San Diego and I have purchased tickets. I just haven't decided what to do with them yet.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let me get this straight. You are going to protest the kids that are suspended and (allegedly) did wrong by refusing to support the kids that have done right by staying out of trouble and doing well in the class room? The suspended kids are going to be two time zones removed from the game, how would your attendance signal your condoning of their behavior? I think you need to sit down and rethink your decision and the reasoning behind it.

Nevermind around 10% of the scholarship players are suspended. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess?

Go team!

Doesn't account for third party vendors. Like Jike did why go through the U when you can get them at 1/3 of the price

they are being railroaded by an extra-judicial unelected board after being cleared by local law enforcement and prosecutors office (oh and the woman in the case agreed the situation was over)

they ARE the victims

furthermore, saying 'at worst gang rape' is shameful, that's slander they simply did not do such a thing. no one from the AD, to the players, coaches, police, prosecutors, or the woman herself is calling this rape.

Yep, that's what I was thinking as well...can't gage by what the U has officially sold.

Think it is safe to assume that we will be significantly outnumbered by WSU fans but hopefully the turnout is still solid. Wish we could afford to go but with a family of 5 just can't justify the airfare at this point. Can't beat San Diego though as far as locations go.

not unexpected though - logistically getting from pullman (or seattle) to san diego is way easier/cheaper because of southwest, its not even a 2 hour flight for them

Definitely, we were never going to keep pace with them on the ticket front.

We were looking at flights to go when this story broke and we bailed. So sick of the crap that comes up at the U. It is always something!

This is PSU/Baylor fan mentality.

Maybe there will be a late surge?

WTF are you talking about? It's now immoral to cheer for the football team because some of the players are suspended? By that standard, you probably shouldn't be on the team's message board, that is probably enough to suggest you condone those suspended players' actions. You should probably never post on this website again.

MadTownGopher,
You're probably right.
This is just a bit of a dilemma for me. A sizeable proportion of the team participated in something that I find morally repugnant (regardless of whether or not it was illegal or whether or not it is a violation of UofM's code of ethics). And it seems that some of the coaching staff and much of the fanbase is perfectly fine with the behavior that took place. So now I need to figure out how to respond. I have two teenage sons for whom I am trying to model good behavior. The Gopherhole is a place for knee-jerk reactions and not for comtemplative thinking, so I won't be seeking clarity here. I do appreciate your measured response, though.

Guess that didn't happen.

Yup, just 10 guys. Just 10% of the team. Just 17% of the guys who will suit up. Oh, and then there are these guys:
