Through 12 Games, Cade Tyson leads the B10 in scoring @ 22.8 per tilt

I've only been a Gopher fans since about 2013 but I think Tyson is the best pure scorer I've seen on the team during that time span. I think a big part of the reason is that he moves constantly and quickly all over the court to put himself in good scoring position. He was the last transfer to come aboard but he was worth the wait.

I'd say Garcia was the second best in that time span but he did seem to have down games a little more often than Tyson has so far.

UNC's Kyan Evans didn't play in crunch time against Ohio State this last weekend...

Pretty significant falloff in his production from CSU last year. I bet he misses wide-open looks.
Let’s keep the disappointing UNC to breakout Minnesota pipeline going.

I am very happy for Cade. It must feel great to have a season start like this after how things went last year for him.

If Cade ends up scoring 18 + a game this year- which I suspect he will- Niko has a GREAT story to tell to future portal guys and for that matter, all recruits. A guy that couldn't get off the bench at UNC is looking like a star here.

Guys are getting better under Niko from what I can see so far. Asuma is much better than last year.
Grove and Shinholster are improving by the game. Reynolds has looked better than he did at the start.

If only we could keep that pipeline going for this season! Come (to your new) home Kyan!

You could tell even during the first Exhibition games that he stood significantly from everyone else on the floor. Hopefully he’s able to keep momentum during the Big 10, he’ll definitely be the defensive focus for most teams.

The only conclusion I can come to regarding Tyson's tenure at UNC is that attending classes and doing your own homework gets you a seat at the end of the bench.

I'm stunned by how good Tyson has been for us and even moreso with how well-rounded his game is. He has a real chance to make an NBA roster next year.

I certainly wouldn't say no to Kyan Evans, my only concern would be between him, Tomes, Willis and Asuma we will be pretty light on size in the backcourt. Not sure I want to go into the big ten with Kai and Asuma as my two biggest guards

He's certainly up there, besides Garcia I would throw Mason and Carr in the mix as well and pre John Gassner stepping on his ankle Andre Hollins

Forgot about Carr (didn't take too long I guess). Mason and Carr weren't nearly as efficient as Tyson (or Garcia) though. Tyson's true shooting percentage is .686 right now (5th in the conference). Garcia's best season here was .581 (still comfortably above average).

Carr's best season here was .517 and Mason's best was .526.

I suspect Tyson's true shooting percentage will decline somewhat through the rest of the season.

I would prefer guys with great handles/shooting ability over size/length when it comes to our guard rotation but that doesn't negate the validity of your post. That would definitely be a diminutive backcourt.
