1) apologize to the team, University and fans for the convictions resulting from the shoplifting and assault charges;

2) take a polygraph exam and release it to the media along with a statement announcing ...

3) his request to resume practicing with the team but taking a red-shirt year.

All three are predicated on White's statements to the UMPD (where he offered to take a polygraph) and on the video (where he says he wants to play for the U and this community) being factual.
 

We'll miss his defensive presence since he led the team in "steals"...
 


and art leads the team with.... oh wait he was a never was so he gets his jollies by making fun of 18 year olds.

I thought I read on one of the recent interviews that White and his lawyers offered to take a polygraph, but the university police said it wasn't necessary or something to that affect.

Polygraph's are nearly as reliable as people think. I don't blame the UMPD for having him take one. Just from what I have read about this case, I think it will be dropped by the DA.

1) You have no idea who I am. How do you know where I've been and what I've accomplished in life? Guess what? 99% of the folks on Gopherhole have accomplished more than Royce White. What has he done other than dominate a bunch of pimply faced high school kids in basketball.

Nothing.

2) If you don't want people to make fun of your boy, tell him to quit providing us with material with his whiny Youtube videos. Royce is in hte Brett Favre category when it comes to being a media/attention whore.

If you have accomplished anything in life then you wouldn't waste your time making fun of an 18 year old. My guess is you live in a basement somewhere and your only source of entertainment is being a tough guy on the internet.

I never said I accomplished anything. I'm just saying you have no idea when you don't know who people are. As for being a tough guy....please. That distinction belongs to Bronko.

Student athletes who are 18 years old are not going to be cut any slack in GopherHole. They are old enough to vote, go to war, pay taxes, and become fathers. Royce White must be held accountable for his actions in the same way most parents in GopherHole would hold their own children accountable. If Royce White spends even one minute in a Gopher uniform this year - Tubby Smith should be fired.

Yes Upnorth. Everyone knows you hate Royce more than life itself. Just to piss you off I was thinking about calling in to Al Sharpton's radio show and seeing if he wanted to look into this.

This is a moronic thread as it just spouts more anti-Royce garbage from one of the regular Royce Haters. Royce has resolved his MOA charges and been supportive of his teamates and Tubby. He's publicly denied any connection with the laptop and has indicated his willingness to take a polygraph. And why should he redshirt if he wants to play now. In fact I can't recall any gopher player that was as vocally supportive of his school, his city, his team and his coach city as Royce. Royce's punishment has far exceeded the crime.
 



I love how everyone loves Sentrel but its almost 100% agreed upon that since the big dogs want him he will be gone. Royce isn't the number 1 recruit but he could of gone just about anywhere he wants, but he loves the city and the state and wanted to help make us great. Could you imagine how good gopher teams over the last 15 years could of been if the top players in our state wanted to actually come here and represent us like royce did. But instead gopher haters get to be happy again becasue or team will continue to be mediocre.
 

Tubby probably would have preferred that Royce's "support" would have came in the form of showing humility and keeping his nose clean in the wake of the MOA incident rather than getting into more trouble and releasing internet videos trying to draw as much attention to himself as possible.

rick - #2 is incorrect in your list of options. royce white and his lawyer willingly offered to take a polygraph/lie detector test for the UMPD regarding the stolen laptop. the UMPD smugly declined that offer by royce and his lawyer.

I know that White and Tyler made the offer -- but that was to try to resolve the investigation.

My point was that he should have taken one and made the results public. It wouldn't have mattered in a court case ... it would matter in terms of community reaction and response.

He would have amplified the PR benefit had he also apologized for the MoA charges and said that while he was in the wrong on that,the polygraph cleared him of the other allegations.

The PR pressure on Maturi and Tubby would have been pretty intense, IMO.

As it is now, if the City Attorney doesn't prosecute, White's still left with the lingering questions and never gets ahead of the PR backlash.
 


I guess I'm in the minority; I was looking forward to seeing him play and develop as a player and human being. I think the U should have had his back more.

Whatever happened to supporting youth? Who here didn't have issues when maturing? I don't even care about the B-ball aspect as I care about Royce's development over-all. I still hold out hope.

Your lack of logic is alarming.

Look at the posting history of some of those named; myself included, how are we all clones of the same person? Some of our posts are literally at the exact same time, including VASTLY different opinions on a wide-range of topics going back 3-4 years? (in my case, as well as Johnny's, SS, Bleed, etc.).

You obviously haven't been reading this site for very long (I see you just joined the site today as well). If you'd been around these parts for 3-4 years, you might understand how wrong you are.

Click on "User CP" on menu bar (toward the top and on the left side). It will open a second page ... click on "Edit Ignore List" on the menu items to the left side of that page. Start typing a moniker and the system will display options. Click on the name you want to add.

Dude, you expect an 18 year old kid to be able to take a polygraph by himself. LOL. He needs access to the equipment plus an impartial operator and he has to be able to afford all that. Get Real!! All he can do is say that he is willing to take the polygraph and see if anyone who can administer a polygraph at no charge to Royce will take him up on the offer. He has stated he's willing to take a polygraph (what more can you expect?), so get off Royce's case.

White's attorney would have been able to coordinate the logistics and I'm pretty confident he'd have been able to assure the cost would have been affordable for White and/or his family.
