Tubby must believe Royce but Maturi is forcing his hand with the suspension. It seems to me that Royce is and will continue to be a huge distraction to the team as long as he is suspended, because everyone will continue to ask about his possible return and articles about him will continue to pop up. If Tubby thought Royce was guilty he would just kick him off the team to end the distraction. There is something missing here.

Mike Max from CCO talked about this a while ago. It seemed to me that they're trying to help him deal with/overcome whatever issues he has. The bottom line seemed they felt kicking him off the team would be more harmful than anything for Royce the person.

Look at it this way too. I know this is an extreme, but the Tennessee kicked off the football players for the car robbery before they were found guilty. They clearly need help to, but that would of been a huge distraction. No one of the team would admit it but the Royce thing is a distraction. I'm sure players get asked all the time about it, plus players like Carter have the idea that their playing time will go way way down if he comes back. Gopher basketball is a business after all.

That is true, and if Royce is able to put it all back together, many believe he will generate huge returns.

Personally, I approve wholeheartedly with this situation's handling, especially given our program's past. I hope Royce gets cleared and can contribute soon.

I agree but I have mixed feelings. Gopher basketball is a business, but it's also a family. There are a lot of blurred lines in between.

If tubby thought that royce was guilty he would be gone(why hurt the rest of the team over a suspension that would likely result in him being kicked off any ways), if he thought he was innocent he would be playing, BUT maturi is forcing his hand. That makes the most sense.
