Oregon fired their coach, wanted to make a splash, big name hire and couldn't despite Phil Knights (Nike) money and a new arena and ended up with solid but not spectacular Dana Altman from Creighton. I have a feeling we are headed down this path as well.

Jerry Kill is not even the basketball equivalent of Dana Altman. Dana Altman is actually quite a solid hire. The problem for Oregon is that they openly recruited Tom Izzo and Tubby making whoever they hired look bad. If we had done the equivalent, we'd have openly talked about Bob Stoops and Chris Petersen and settled for Edsall. A let down, but still a solid coach.
