this program is dead

No. It's not dead. I don't think you understand dead.

Technically, you're right, due to the fact that we still have a team.

Since we're not actually going to disband the program, and effectively make it dead, I'm not sure what the right characterization is. Persistent vegetative state? Comatose? Atrophied?

I'm going with the wretched condition of the main character from 'Johnny Got his Gun' (the movie which is featured in Metallica's "One" video). That's about as close to one can get to dead without actually being dead.

We are near the bottom, with Purdue. We used to be in the middle. We wanted to be at the top.

Relax and step away from the ledge. This program is not dead, it sucks. With the right commitment and head coach things can turn around in a hurry. Keep the faith and your support and it WILL happen, we all need a higher level of expectations from the administration down to the fans......and then we will be relevant again. It's up to us fans/season ticket holders to demand better and accept NOTHING less than excellent football. I'm still in and up for that....are you?

Email Maturi before it dies!!!!!!!!!

Correction- Chicago plays D-III football.

Maybe we shouldn't be surprised at this. In Brewster's first season he took the
Gophs to Florida to play FAU. From what people saw, the entire coaching staff
abandoned the team at the airport and hit the road recruiting. The team played
like they had been neglected.

It plays much the same way now, 4 years later.........

We're getting close to Terry Schiavo territory. And we need a really good doctor.

I suppose I'm still in but I am a tired Gopher fan.

One of my close friends(season ticket holder) owns a funeral home and he still goes to the games......hummm, what did I just say.

oops...guess I should read through all the posts before i try to be witty. Someone beat me to the punch!

Regardless, this program instills no excitement in me anymore. I turn on the game and expect an inept performance each time now. It is a sad thing.

Yikes, last week I posted I was sick and tired of watching this crap and was thinking about letting my season tickets go and Jay got all over my case.

Now we know things are really bad!! ;)
