Q: How many injuries did Louisville sustain this season? How are the Cardinals doing?
Buckles (season ending)
Swopshire (season ending)
Siva (probably return Thursday)
-The Cardinals are a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament and were a top AP 25 mainstay in the regular season.

How many injuries did Va. Tech sustain this season? How are the Hokies doing?
JT Thompson (season)
Allen Chaney (season)
Dorenzo Hudson (season)
Candarian Raines (season)
Jarrell Eddie (disciplinary)
Victor Davilla (probably return for NIT)
-The Hokies won 20-plus games, beat Duke, won six games against top 50 teams and should have made the NCAA Tournament. Bottom line. They are the top seed in the NIT and killed Bethune-Cook. in the first round

How many injuries did Minnesota sustain this season. How DID the Gophers do this season?
No need to answer...

I'm hoping this puts an end to the tired injury excuse.

I'm guessing that they both have practice facilities....

Siva has played every game this year. Swopshire was an impact player, Buckles not so.

Davilla has played all year. Raines and Chaney both garbage time players. Hudson obv a good player so thats huge but thats it. Thompson not much of an impact. Eddie had minimal impact 3ppg.

So yes Va Tech lost more players but none of them had the impact like Devoe or Al could outside of Hudson. And Louisville lost 2 players 1 (Swopshire) having any type of impact.

These are just excuses. Nothing more.

Ask Selection Sunday about excuses.

Don't feed the troll.

I normally disagree with everything maroongopher has to say, but I guess I don't know how this is trolling. For once he didn't shamefully blast the Gophers and it appears he did a little research.

But let's make this clear, MaroonGopher is still an idiot.

Get over it, the season is over stop dwelling on the past.

How is this trolling? MaroonGopher is citing facts.

I tell you what facts are, how did Purdue do last year when their best player went down? How did Wisconsin do when their best player went down last year?

MaroonGopher, you are not a loyal fan. Your posts are nothing but troll and shouldn't be fed.

Go Gophers

I haven't disappeared Barn Burner. I'm right here as a matter of fact. And if you've been paying attention (I know you have), I've never made excuses for this season. In fact, on a number of occasions in this forum, I've said it was a disappointing season and that we underachieved. Does that sound like someone making excuses for our late-season swoon?

Once again hypocrisy from thy little one. thy little one talks brings up Monson over and over before anyone else does. Thy little one says it's a done deal that Monson and long beach get in tourney. He says "If? Done Deal." Then when Monson gets ripped by ESPN analysts for being poor sport after loss and don't get into NCAA, ol bb dsiappeared.after the end of the guarantee of making tourney.

Hypocrisy continues to be thy name little one.

They see me trollin, They hatin.

Get over it, the season is over stop dwelling on the past.

So we are not allowed to bring up facts from last season on this board? Since when was that a rule? There are people still bringing up sh*t from 1996. I suppose it would have been OK to start a discussion about all the wonderful accomplishments of the Gophers last season though?

You don't have Cobbs transfering the year before, Joseph transfering mid year, Nolen getting hurt all from one position. How many of those teams lost three players from one position. It really makes a difference.

Call them excuses, call them what you want. Call them facts, if you want.

But, neither of the two teams you cited as shining examples of teams who have overcome injuries had to go through the loss of their three primary ballhanders and point guards from the previous year.

Think of it this way. Minnesota could have probably overcome the loss of a wing man (say Rodney Williams) or even two (say Rodney Williams and Austin Hollins) or even two wings and a big (say Williams, Hollins and Walker) and still limped into the NIT as VT did. But, losing Nolan AND Joseph AND Cobbs is a totally different beast. I don't care what team you are, you lose your three best ballhandlers from the year before and replace them with no one, you are in trouble. This seems to get lost on a lot of people. And, yes, Tubby is at fault for some of the roster shortcomings.

But, the facts you cite are irrelevant as it relates to overcoming injuries. Neither Louisville or VT lost their top two ball handlers and offensive leaders. In fact, Louisville hardly lost anyone. Swopshire and Buckles were role players. The other guy you mentioned has played in EVERY game.

Why don't we just put this last $hit year behind us, quit the blame game, and concentrate on the future. Remember, in the words of POGO..."We have met the enemy and they is us."

I'm with ya Dr. D but tj makes some very good points even if it is only to a troll.
