I imagine the coverage will dwindle, but the story was previewed by Coach Kill.

On what the team needs to do in order to be successful ...
"I'll tell you that the whole key to this team is. The team has to take where they left off today and when we start two-a-day camp, we better be better. In other words, what they do this summer, I can't go back and start over. We have to start from where we left off today and keep climbing. They're going to have to do a great job this summer in taking care of business and doing what they need to do to get better. So we will see what they are all about."

Oh sure Apilate needs to be a 245, the offensive line needs to gell. Gray needs to get reps with McKnight, Lair, et al. The defensive line needs better technique. The team needs more quikness, more strength, more speed. They need more reps in the basic dozen plays.

How do you do that with coaches on the road, the NCAA regulatiions.

Strength and Conditioning, communication, observation, film study goes through Eric. This is the time were the voluntary drills are offered. How many field goals will be kicked between now and August. Snap, place, kick. And the punting game protections, snap, kick under 2 seconds. How many kicks from our endzone reach the 50? It is all charted. Progress is measured.

This is the period where programs make the biggest strides. I have no doubt the staff will meet with each player and explain what is expected. There are leaders on this team that will enforce the drills. Stoudmire, Gray.

I can only hope the media will cover The Gopher Football Team from now to August. There are more than enough stories.

Totally agree. This is the time when the team will make the most strides, during each off-season period. This one feels especially crucial, cause now the team has seen the practice philosophies, they know more about the schemes they'll be doing and how each position needs to prepare to do their jobs. I've very interested in seeing how Klein develops these guys physically, since Kill seems to feel that he's the reason for any success he's had at his previous spots.
