What annoys me about this whole #HOTSPROTSTAKE is that some people clearly believe all of the defenders are just autonomously choosing to do this themselves. If it annoys you (not you, BarnBoy, the royal you), that's your right and I understand your frustration, but be mad at the coaches, not the players who are following the instruction.

My favorite part of that is he almost made the tackle by knocking the receiver out of bounds.

That shows the flaw in the Pass Interference penalties in college too. Kid had no idea where the ball was, maybe wasn't even his man, but the play in college is to then just tackle the receiver before he catches the ball. Blatant foul, seemingly unfair, but the right damn play. BYU gets 15 yards but not a TD or the ball on the 2.

Best part was he didn't look stupid UNTIL he turned his head. If he would have just played the receiver's hands, he might have been able to break it up.
