Our defense was supposed to be led this year by the young, talented defensive recruits that have been brought in by Brew's staff. But they apparently have all been beat out by "lesser talents" like Grant and Henderson. Can anyone explain this? Are the likes of Michael Carter and Keenon Cooper just not that good and were overrated? I just can't imagine that Michael Carter doesn't have the ability to beat out Kyle Henderson..

This bothers me as well. We just can't seem to counterpunch on defense. We can sell out on the first option (until we get totally worn down), but that leaves something else open. Give Wisconsin a lot of credit. They run a lot of great stuff off of their basic set, but we are supposed to have the athletes to combat some of that, or at least put up a fight on it.

FYI - Michael Carter was inactive today due to injury (toe).

didn't know that..but he still hasn't started every game this year and has gotten his spot taken. If he truly was a 4 star talent he would easily have a hold on one of the starting spots over his competition.

Who knows, he might have had the toe problem all season.

Yeah, I discarded the whole "more athletic" argument a few weeks back. In my opinion the defense has looked slow week in, week out. There's obviously no improvement taking place.

It's clear this season is going nowhere, Brewster's gone, Weber keeps playing, etc., etc., etc.. The games are simply getting increasingly unwatchable. Last week was mildly entertaining only because Northwestern played an absolutely horrible first half.

You know what's going to happen, you know who's going to play, you know how the other team is going to beat us, and >yawn< another uninspiring loss.

At least they could give us some reason to stay interested (and no, I'm not a Weber basher, but he AIN'T the future, and there is no NOW, so we might as well mix it up a bit).
