What if any contact or help do the University of Minnesota teams recieve from the University of Minnesota itself. Certain things just scream out. Does the University Football team have access to the Carlson School of Management specifically marketing? Do they have access to sports physcology, data manangement/opponent tendancy? Can they get that help, or is it a NCAA violation.

Anyone?

When I was still involved in hockey there were a number of college teams hiring sports psychologists, especially some of the ones specializing in building team trust. If you can spend university funds for it, wouldn't it seem appropriate to use school resources as well? Hmmm.

Husker...

This might answer your question. No. At the University, each department is its own entity both logistically and by the culture of animosity. The parking services department runs the parking and charges booster groups to use the "parking" for fund-raising events, information people do not permit sending students pep rally and game day info through university e-mail...there are many examples.

Great. The U is beginning to sound like MnDOLI. Not surprising I guess, but a bit disappointing. Are you saying there is literally no way for departments to cooperate on project and share or at least make resources available to each other?

It is a public institution therefor it is very inefficiently run. You need to throw logic out the window when dealing with Government and "publicly run" institutions. If it was a Private University it would be a totally different story.
