A week after getting hammered 49-0 at Michigan, Warmath somehow gets Gophers ready to beat Woody Hayes for the first and only time. Junior quarterback Curtis Wilson has 138 of Minnesota's 262 rushing yards. The first Gopher score comes when Wilson fumbles at the goal line and the ball is recovered in the end zone by a tough sophomore running back from suburban Chicago. 2 years later, he will be involved in a kickoff return touchdown on a cross field lateral vs. O.J. Simpson's USC team. Can you name him?

Bleed- You are all over this stuff! I would expect nothing less!

It always makes me feel better to know their are folks older than me on the board. Can't say I was there in '66 (wasn't yet born)...

Can you name the Gopher that lateralled the ball across the field to Wintermute in the USC game?

Excellent DL65. I was at the game and we went ahead on that return. But then USC quaterback Steve Sogge turned around and handed the ball to O.J. about 20 times in a row and we lost, I think 29-20.

Was at the game. Rained like crazy before the start of the game.
Warmath had the grounds keeper not mow the field that week. The grass
was like 3-4 inches long! They thought it would keep Simpson from making those great
cuts and jukes. Gopher's had a great TE by the name of Ray Parsons who went on to play
briefly in the NFL. He was a JC transfer and I believe from Uniontown, PA.
