Gophers get their final win at Memorial Stadium in upset over Art Schlichter-led Buckeyes. Junior quarterback Mike Hohensee completes 37 of 67 passes for 444 yards and 5 touchdowns, 3 of which are caught by a tight end from Winona. The last catch comes on a deflection in the end zone off an Ohio State defensive back from 28 yards out with 2:35 left to play. The receiver will go on to play 2 NFL seasons, one with the Bucs and one with the Vikings. Can you name him?

This game is shown on "Big Ten's Greatest Games" on a pretty regular rotation. Jay Carroll nabbed the three scores, almost got killed on the first one. Chester Cooper also had a huge game, 12 catches for 182.

The announcing crew, including Terry Hanratty, is HORRIFIC.

There was another Gopher wide receiver that caught several balls that day. His name was Ron Wechbacker. Number 19. For the life of me, I can't remember him.

The young RB in that game was Tony Hunter out of Memphis, Tenn. I believe he was a sophomore in that game. He had Maroney type speed, but was hampered by injuries throughout his career. He was quite the kid. Called himsel. " Touchdown Toney "and had a gold tooth cap
In shape of a star.
