Gopher upset saves Gutekunst's job for another year as Gophers finish 6-5. Hawkeyes learn they will be going to Rose Bowl in 2nd quarter when news arrives that Michigan has beaten OSU. Gophers get a touchdown just before halftime when a blocked punt is recovered in the Iowa end zone by a junior wideout from Moss Point, Mississippi. This player also catches a 28-yard touchdown pass to put Gophers up 31-17 with 14:00 left. Can you name him?

Leo: Late in the game the Hawks were driving and this Gopher linebacker from Illinois blitzed and caused a fumble to end the game. Can you name him?

Leo: No, he was recruited I think as a quarterback but moved to linebacker. Out of Lane Tech in Chicago.

Doc- Well, I took a look at the 1990 roster in search of Illinois players and found just 3 names. Doyle Cockrell played a lot but he was a lineman. The other 2 guys, John Bentley and Les O'Hara, weighed less than 200 lbs. i know nothing about them. Maybe one of them moved to linebacker and bulked up without the listed program weight keeping pace.

Leo: Yes, Les O'Hara is the answer. Thanks for all your Gopher questions. I enjoy them.
