Tavarus Bennett has 16 points and 11 boards for Gophers. Minnesota loses a forward to a broken leg in the first two minutes. A transfer from Oregon State, he is the son of a long-time NBA coach. Can you name him?

JB Bickerstaff, who should be an assistant on the next coaching staff whenever that happens.

Arguably that season was headed toward Monson's best coaching job (very possibly the NCAA tourney) until Michael Bauer and then Bickerstaff went down with injuries. That team had some mojo going with a win over Wisconsin (coming off a Final 4) in the Gophers' Big Ten home opener, as well as a come-from-behind OT win over Indiana. Bauer broke his arm at Purdue two games later, and the season started going downhill from there.

I thought I remembered Bickerstaff getting injured at home...or was that the next year?
