Think of it this way-schedule

Most people on this board prefered the true east/west split.

Our every year schedule with that split would be:
Ne
IA
WI
NU
Ill
plus a prefered/probable protected game with MI for the JUG
plus 2 other games

Our every year schedule with the new divisions:
NE
IA
NU
MI
MSU
plus a protected game with WI
plus 2 other games

Essentialy we flipped MSU for ILL

I have my doubts as to whether or not Mich-Minn would be the protected game in that lineup. Sure, it would be ideal for us. But what about Michigan? What about the BigTen's needle-moving priories? Who knows?

I'll take what we've got.
