There's low graduation rates, and then there's really low graduation rates

Congratulations to the Huskies for having the most single-mindedly focused program in college basketball. Basketball is probably what they get paid for, isn't it?:)

Graduation rate is a little misleading. It isn't a schools fault if the majority of their talented players declare early for the draft and never return to graduate. I'd bet UK's will be pretty low going forward as well.

That said, 11% is pretty low either way ...

I agree Scher. I would like to see some kind of adjusted rate that doesn't count players who get drafted early. It is tough to fault a school for taking a player who wants to play pro-ball and developing him into a player who can go into his chosen profession. That is a very different situation from keeping guys around all four years and not getting them into the classroom enough to finish a degree.

They don't count the "one and done's" graduation rates count the players who complete their eligiability, so 11 percent of players who play four years fail to graduate within six years

Are you sure about that? I thought the other thread talking about the U's numbers said that we graduated 100% of players who exhausted four years of eligibility and our individual team rates were not 100%.
