yeah, he has definitely solidified himself as THE starter hasn't he?

that is just a pathetic stat line for a 3rd year starting QB........

Thank god we didn't need Weber to come through today... That is all I have to say about his play. We didn't ask much from him and we didn't get much from him.

Hey, Weber is a 4th year guy who can read the defense and understand this highly complicated offense. HAH! He stunk it up in the spring game and he has stunk it up in every game this year. Oh well, at least we only have one more year before Brewster sends him off to the NFL.

But he doesn't play anymore. He got benched, something Brewster will never do to Weber.

Yea how did that work out for illinos
E. McGee 2/11 31 2.8 0(tds) 1 int.
any one catch pryors line today 5/13 for 87 yards and an int agaisnt Wiscos very sub par passing D.

hate to say it Ricki stanzi(we hate Iowa) had the only good day for a big ten QB (not counting clark who played little house of the poor.)

Oh, well, then by all means, let's just continue to put up with Weber's sub-par play since it didn't work out for another team.

Pryor was a 5 star recruit playing with other 5 star recruits...note im just using the star thing becuase people on here seem to be obsessed with it. Gray does not have that kind of talent around him, especially O-line. that being said he should have played in the 4th quarter this week, but anyone calling for a 'Benching of weber' is out of their mind.
Also we need more QB run plays or designed plays to get weber out of the pocket, he looks way more confident when there is running involved. He doesn't trust his line but who could blame him

Says who? Do you think Brewster doesn't want to win? Its not like Brew recruited Weber. Gray is the star of his star filled first recruiting class. If anything, you'd think Brew would be MORE likely to use Gray if possible. I sincerely doubt Brew is going to put his head on the block out of some misplaced loyalty to Weber. I'd say use your head but you aren't interested in making sense.

You really need to get a grip. I'm basing my comments on Brewster's words. I'm not just making up a bunch of crap on here. Brewster has emphatically said this over and over again, and his actions so far back up his words.

Do you happen to recall when Brew made the comments? B/c the last time I can recall hearing them stated that emphatically was during the preseason. And the intent was to make sure there was no QB controversy in the press.

I ask you again...do you actually think that Brewster would put Weber ahead of winning and his own success/job security?

No, I don't. My point was and is that Brewster thinks Weber is great. So, because he thinks he's great, he won't bench him. I'm not even suggesting that Weber be replaced. I think while the team still has a chance at a bowl, Weber should be the starter. BUT... I think it's ridiculous that Gray hasn't thrown a single pass all season. There have been many opportunities, and given Weber's struggles, they should be making it a priority to start to give Gray some chances. But they haven't. And now Brewster comes out again and says how great Weber is again this week.

We'll see if Brewster even puts Gray in at all at the end of the next two games, when the Gophers figure to be getting stomped.

Weber is like Mason - mediocre. You know what you get with Weber - mediocrity. I was as excited as anyone with the hire of Brewster. That excitement is dwindling, but I still think it was the right move.

And now it's time to begin at least getting some glimpses of Gray, because he's exciting. And, frankly, he's not Weber. The Gophers will lose the next two no matter how Weber plays, and that's fine. But if the Gophers lose to Michigan State or Illinois, the season is over, and I think Gray should play the majority if not all of the snaps from that point on.

Weber is the worst QB in the Big Ten. It's really that simple.

Good thing I caught this before it was deleted.

Appreciate the candid response. I'd note that Brewster thinks that Weber is a great leader. He hasn't said anything about how his play has been fantastic recently. And given the fact that Fisch's offense apparently puts a premium on the QB calling protections, I can see where they might prefer a solid leader right now (despite his subpar play).

Gray has thrown a pass. It just happened...during the Purdue game. Your overall point about not many chances is still valid, but this was just factually incorrect.

I agree...continued glimpses would be good.

Haven't done one of these in awhile, its rusty :(
