Solution for next year: Tubby should establish a new approach that allows one core group of starters to get a significantly higher percentage of floor time--that way the players will gel better and develop quicker....

Example: Michigan's Harris and Sims played a lot minutes together tonight, and really gelled, no? Maybe we don't have that kind of talent in a tandem on our squad, but we need to try to give select players more floor time together (each and every game) so they can develop better chemistry and team identity; our fairly strong defensive identity has all but disappeared, now that scrappy Al Nolan is gone for the year

While Tubby's "hockey line shift" mentality has its merits, he should get rid of this quick rotation stuff, which really hasn't worked too effectively this year (if players get enough floor time, they will find their groove)

My core would be:
Damian Johnson
Paul Carter
Ralph Sampson
Blake Hoffarber
Devoe Joseph

(I'm not a huge Westbrook fan)

Sure its a nice theory, but games don't always play out that way where you can just give out minutes with the group that gels. Foul trouble, defensive matchups, and streak shooting all have to be considered throughout the game.

Personally, I'm starting to feel like we were better off with two bigs starting (like last year) - Iverson and Sampson at the 4 and 5, Damian at the 3, Westbrook or Hoff at the 2, and Joseph running the point. Despite Iverson's sophomore slump, he could at least nab more rebounds, and some increased minutes might help him get his confidence back.

I'll surely receive heat for even suggesting that Colton get more floor time, but that's how I feel.

You are probably right... I guess it was just a theory

I like your lineup with the exception of Westbrook (I'm just not a huge LW fan, though he certainly has his shining moments--i get the feeling LW somehow takes away from team chemistry at times)

Agree w/ RS and CI on the floor together more. That would help each other. Johnson and Hoff and if West tell him no more shooting. 'Just distribute the ball.
