-Indiana beat Illinois at home as well, they took MSU to OT @MSU ... they seem to have gotten better

-Indiana had a player contribute most thought was out, Jones.

-MN played with no effort for much of the game, shot free throws horribly, yet only lost by 3 and had a chance at the end ... Overall, Gophers didn't lose because of lack of talent, but lack of effort and hustle.

-I felt that Rodney played pretty good defense, Ralph showed some aggressiveness, Austin Hollins played phenomenal

-MN pressed and played solid defense when it counted. Even without Al, if we can play that defense with that effort for an entire game, we will be in every game.

-This team is probably not happy about this loss (probably more frustrated than any fan) and it just so happens the next game is back at home, against the number 1 team in the country. The stadium will be on fire and the players will be fired up as well.

I, like many others, had this game as a sure win. It stinks that MN lost, but fortunately once again it is not a season of one game. Austin showed he can shoot threes and free throws, Blake can obviously shoot (that's two shooters now) Austin proved he can play defense, Rodney is quick enough to guard a lot of people. I am frustrated and disapointed, but I am not ready to call it a wrap.

On to tOSU, I am guessing a lot of players were on to OSU this morning, so now its time to make it happen!

****EDIT: MSU, while down this year, is losing by 20 @ Iowa ...

Hollins' second half was a positive. Other than that, I didn't see one.

Only 3 road games left.

at iowa
at penn state
at northwestern

those do not look like gimmes anymore. :(

I know it is only one game but based on what Hollins did tonight it would be great to see him start this week end. It would also be great to see Colton with much less time on the floor.

We will probably beat OSU on Sunday. That is a positive.

I'd love to see Austin start over Colton, but not to reduce Colton's minutes. I just like being able to pull Ralph of Trevor (if they have foul trouble) and bringing in another 6-10 guy and not losing size like we do if there is foul trouble now.

I agree. Start Hollins. Blake can not be the only guard on the floor.

Hollins had 5 rebounds and Rodney had 1. How does a guy with Rodney's hops play 20 plus minutes and get 1 rebound?

Watch the replay on BTN later tonight and you will see just how he did it.

I agree. Hollins should start. Williams should come off the bench for the next few games. Hollins and Armelin provided some offensive spark I though.

I wouldn't mind a starting line up of Armelin, Hoffarber, Hollins, Mbakwe and Sampson.

Agree about the aggressiveness of Ralph being a positive. The sequence where he hit an open jumper on one possession then drove in for the hook shot was good.

Jw (because I don't know) how many boards did Ralph / Trevor / Colton have? I didn't think anyone really rebounded well tonight.

I sure hope you are right. It would be fun. The more probable result on Sunday is that we play our fannies off and lose by 4. That's the shame of tonight --we wasted an easy win by offering a poor effort for 35 minutes.
