Our defense has gone back to being Big Ten awful and our offense has progressed to Big Ten average. Mitch may have had his best game as a gopher today, but he also made a critical mistake in the 4th quarter in the red zone.

Not sure what to say on the defense. It sure does feel like we've returned to the Mason years...

Yep. That's been the pattern this season so far.

You must have missed Iowa 2014.

patently ridiculous assessment - college football is about scoring and it took this offense 4 quarters and OT to score enough points to be considered the 86th best offense by ppg average.

if you hold a team to 23 points in 4 quarters you should win - plain and simple

not happy with the big plays given up but the blame still rests on the offense no doubt

Who's the Gopher tackling coach anyway:confused:

Yes, offense outplayed our own defense, but that isn't saying much. Our offense should have put on 300+ rushing yards. Almost all their linebackers were out. Even their own fans thought they would lose.

Hire the LSU DC at the end of the year.

I wish someone would tell our offensive coaches that when it's 3rd. and short or 4th. and short, when you go back into the pistol, it becomes 3rd. and 6 or 4th. and 6. Why not put the QB up under the center?

No, it doesn't.

Most certainly does. When the QB receives the snap in the pistol, he is responsible for gaining at least 6 yards for the first down. While under center he has at most 1 additional yard.

Claeys has one shot at the big time and this is it. As a defensive career coach, you'd think he'd be all over his coaches because defense has been a problem in all four games. The offense played well enough to win today.
