How can I say we are worse right now than the same time last year? We were talking deaths, right? The deaths this Fall were higher than the deaths were last Fall. Yes, we will see what this Winter looks like. I hope it’s lower than last Winter, but I’m not as sure as you that it will be.

I am pretty sure number of cases were higher in the fall 2021 surge than they were in last winters surge. Might be wrong tho.

How do you square that?

Last year things were completely shut down. Schools were in distance or hybrid learning models, restaurants closed, business and personal travel shut down, youth sports cancelled, gyms, bars, etc….

Claiming the vaccines don’t stop the spread at all is a ridiculous straw man.

They were? Bars, restaurants, gyms, etc weren't closed down in MN until November 20th. They were only responsible for a few percent of the spread despite contact tracers doing the best they could to find more. Many rural schools were still in the classroom, and were the entire year. Malls were packed throughout the holiday season. Personal travel wasn't shut down either.

That was just MN, meanwhile surrounding surrounding states had few to no restrictions. This year MN continues to do worse than its surrounding states despite the highest vaccination rate in the area.

I know many metro schools have gone back to distance learning now, despite masks being required throughout the school year so far. When does the anti-Science nonsense end?

You're welcome for the experimental, unapproved monoclonal antibody treatments and new Pfizer treatment pill, unvaccined assholes.

Many of the dummies will wait until they are really sick to seek treatment, which I believe minimizes the benefits of those therapies. They all showed more benefit when taken early in the infection.

"For monoclonal antibody therapy to be most effective, it needs to be taken as early in the disease course as possible. So, the sooner the better — even if you're not feeling that bad yet."

This is the 3-day data dump with totals from Sat, Sun & Mon

9,522 confirmed cases & reinfections + 1,933 probable cases = 11,455 total cases

10.3% overall positive test rate

37 deaths reported (27 private residence/10 long-term care)
9,229 total deaths (4,894 long-term care)

Hospitalizations:
Sat: ICU 336 (+6). non-ICU 1,038 (-5). Total Hospitalized 1,374 (+1).

Sun: ICU 328 (-8). Non-ICU 1,069 (+31). Total Hospitalized 1,397 (+23)

Mon: ICU 320 (-8). Non-ICU 1,109 (+40). Total Hospitalized 1,429 (+32).

Here's the MN data one year apart. Thanks SON.
Total hospitalized: 1,429 now vs 1,778 in 2020. A 20% reduction
ICU: 320 now vs 364 in 2020. A 12% reduction.
Non-ICU: 1,109 now vs 1,414 in 2020. A 22% reduction.
64% of the population 5+ is fully vaccinated.

Let's compare that to South Dakota.
Total hospitalized now: 237 vs 582 in 2020 A 59% reduction
59% of the population 12+ is fully vaccinated

Why is SD faring so much better than MN now???

Are they? I sure as hell can't from what you posted.

You didn't normalize hospitalization rates for population, without that you can't tell how they are doing compared to MN this year.

By my quick calculation, if South Dakota had MN's population, they would have 1,570 people in the hospital right now.

MN has 1,109 in the hospital right now.

Thanks for showing us S Dakota still sucks
🤣🤣🤣

And have been for six months. This chart may seem unbelievable or impossible, but it's correct, based on weekly data from the British government.

The brown line represents weekly deaths from all causes of vaccinated people aged 10-59, per 100,000 people.
The blue line represents weekly deaths from all causes of unvaccinated people per 100,000 in the same age range.

From All deaths.
Meaningless number. I bet the older people in that age range are basically all vaccinated. The majority of unvaccinated are a younger healthier cohort. These numbers are in no way a surprise.

Control it for a tight age range and risk factors and it will look much different. This is a case study in how to cherry pick data and you fell for it.

For someone not worried about Covid-19, you sure spend a lot of time reading and talking about it…
It’s not Covid he’s worried about…it’s freedom. Speaking of which, I am thankful we have it still. Happy thanksgiving!
