Anyone who has watched men's college basketball in recent years almost certainly has noticed how the game changes in the final two minutes. Every borderline call means a trip to the video monitor, and the game slows to a halt.

The NCAA is looking to change that starting in the 2025-26 season.

On Tuesday, the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel announced a few major changes to how replays are handled, and the hope is to see an improved game flow — particularly down the stretch. New for 2025, officials will no longer be able to go to the monitor to review out of bounds calls in the final two minutes. Such reviews can only be initiated by a coach's challenge, which is also new for next season and can occur at any point in the game.

Awesome.....I'm all for getting it right but the out of bounds reviews in college basketball were getting ridiculous in terms of the number and length of them.

One challenge per game? Good rule change. Refs were using replay as a crutch and it really takes away from fan experience with all the stoppages

One challenge but if they win the challenge they get another one.

The out of bounds reviews late in games were getting insane...the amount of time they would spend watching the plays in super slow mo to see whose fingertip grazed the ball last was such a drag on the end of games which are already long enough between the timeouts and fouls.
