Massachusetts is Boston College, and New Jersey is tough to tell, but I'm fairly certain that it's Duke.

On that topic, it's interesting how many schools are the most-hated in their own state: Washington, Arizona St., BYU, Miss. St., UNC, Louisville, Creighton, Boston College

You can tell which teams are most popular in each state based on the results. IE ISU is more popular than Iowa because Kansas is the most hated.

Massachusetts is Boston College, and New Jersey is tough to tell, but I'm fairly certain that it's Duke.

If you lived in Utah you wouldn't be all that surprised by BYU.

Not necessarily. I was thinking that too, but then it occurred to me that it could be a case of one teams fans splitting their vote. If almost all the Iowa State fans chose Kansas and Iowa fans split their vote fairly evenly between Iowa State, Wisconsin and Illinois, then Kansas would win even if Iowa had more fans.

I really, really question the validity of the results of this (Minnesota not more hated than Ohio State in Wisconsin?), but there are way more Iowa fans than Iowa State fans in Iowa. If Kansas is the most hated team in Iowa it has to do with the Jayhawks being the overwhelming choice of Iowa State fans and probably some residual bitterness from fans of other in state teams over Hinrich and Collison choosing KU over Iowa/ISU a number of years ago.

These are just the results of a reddit user poll. I'd be interested to see how many responses were recorded, because the college basketball section of reddit is pretty slow this time of year.
