They would love to have a coach that feeds them interesting copy. It would be easy to write articles about Leach. And Leach would feed them all the tidbits they need. I would say they are more interested in good copy than what will do the football team justice. Take their recommendations with a grain of salt. Deep down they would agree.

Yeah, but I want to win. So it's a WIN-WIN-WIN situation. Much better than a lose-lose-win.
 

The media can write more stories about a winner. The Local media should be pushing every team to win in the local market (and that includes the gophers, wild, vikings, timberwolves, ect). You can only write so many articles bashing gopher football per week. If they are winning, you can write as many articles about it as you want.

The media always has an agenda.

Right now, the agenda is bashing anyone and everyone involved in the coaching search because they're pissed they haven't been given so much as a morsel of real information. Everything they write/say between now and the announcement of a new coach should be considered with this in mind.
