The Illini boards Discussion on our HC

Thanks. That was a fun read. I am always amazed at how cold people THINK it is in southern MN during the football season.

Interesting. Pretty much covered everything that's been said in here minus a few names.

I don't know what the other Big Ten boards are saying. That would be interesting to see too.

I've read a few message boards thoughts (Michigan, MSU) on Leach as our coach. Some Michigan fans hope for it because they want to see Minnesota do well. Some Michigan fans are against it because they fear him. Either way, it's a plus for us if we get Leach (at least, from the Michigan standpoint).

Same goes for the Wisconsin fans that I have talked too..

On the filp side I have read some Big Ten fans saying that Leach would fail because the spread can't work up here.

I've heard very few guys say that, but it can be dismissed by Michigan's current offensive success, Northwestern's rise, and Purdue's history (Brees).

I believe almost any offense can work anywhere with the right coach(es) and the right athletes.

People say the spread can't work in the Big Ten but the spread is the reason why Northwestern has been able to win half their games in the Big Ten. It can work if your committed to it and you find the right athletes. Northwestern proves the point that your players don't have to be five or four stars to make it work.
