Over the past two seasons the play of the team quickly and completely sucked all of my excitement about TCF out of my body. I was completely jacked about the stadium coming into last season but last season's finish and most of this year was such a disaster on the field that I forgot how great TCF is. Watching the stadium being prepped for MNF has brought that excitement back for me. New coach is helping too.

I wonder if this has others feeling similar?

If the play of the Gophers sucked all of the excitement out of your body, I'm not sure the play of the Vikings will be the cure. They have not beat a team with a winning record all year.

All I really want for Christmas is for Tim Blotz to take me up in the Fox 9 chopper and hover over TCF as we witness the masses push, pull and jockey for position to gain premo seats for a meaningless game.

I have no love for the Vikings. My feelings have nothing to do with the Vikings. Its that the stadium has been showcased for something other than just the horrible Gopher football that has generally been played there the past two years. I am hoping for a great game on Monday but regardless the UofM and TCF are big winners in this whole event.

Game sure isn't meaningless for the Bears.

Did you even SEE the Iowa game this year?

That game alone atoned for the lack-luster season the Gophs had this season. And that game alone brought my Gopher love back from the flat-line it was in the weeks prior.

Not a MNF game. Although, I will agree that I'm excited to see the Bank on tv this Monday night..

It seems from my unscientific observations that GH is more excited about a 5-8 Vikings team playing in TCF Bank Stadium than it ever has been for a Gopher team to play there, including the inaugural game vs. Air Force. Following our thrilling underdog win vs. hated rival Iowa there was not a whole lot of commotion, but preceding a meaningless NFL game vs. an indifferent division opponent, you'd think Minneapolis just landed the Olympics and TCF is preparing for the opening ceremonies. From a distance, all I can see is a massive inferiority complex.....

What can I say except enjoy watching your beloved purple pooper pumpers get blown out of their own temporary stadium on MNF.....

Yes so let me restart. The Iowa game and knowing we were getting a new coach got me excited about Gopher Football again. The Kill hiring at first was a buzz "kill" but now has me thinking we got the perfect guy; no thanks to Joel. This MNF game being played at TCF has reminded me what a unbelievable stadium we have and how great it is going to be watch real Gopher Football there next fall. Also, just saw the ESPN MNF promo and they are excited about this and promoting the outdoor aspect of TCF a lot of people are going to see this stadium for the first time on Monday and are going to realize Gopher football has something special.

Does that explain it a little better?
