I was extremely impressed with this documentary about Bill McCartney. While I don't agree with a lot of his beliefs, the man has tremendous faith and strength. To listen to the players talk about him and the way he stood up for them in Boulder (especially the late 80's interview where he says there isn't enough African Americans in Boulder) took courage. If you get a chance (especially if you remember those Colorado teams), watch it. It's by the same director who did the Refuse to Lose about Jimmy V's NC State team. That was excellent as well.

I have it recorded and plan on watching it over the next few days. The 30 for 30 documentaries are very good.

Watched it tonight. As with all the 30 for 30's, it was excellent. I remember those CU teams really well from back when I was in high school, and since I HATED Notre Dame because of Holtz ditching us, I was rooting big time for CU in those two Orange Bowls. Regardless of what you think about his beliefs (and I do think he's a bit of a hypocrite in some ways, but in other ways, he was a stand up guy), it's pretty remarkable that he walked away from coaching at age 53 and never went back, considering the success he had.

Pretty remarkable to think that they split the national title that year with Georgia Tech. How much has the landscape of college football changed in 25 years...

Loved the Joke:

Q: What does the "N" stand for on the Nebraska helmet?

A: Nowledge

I couldn't help but think of coach Kill when I watched that, especially building a down program into a great team and then walking away from coaching in his mid fifties. It made me sad though that Kill didn't get to finish what he started.

I feel like we should've been watching a 30 for 30 someday about Kill overcoming epilepsy and leading us to a national title. (Heck, a Colorado national title is way crazier than us winning another one).
