The Gophers open the Big Ten season at home for first two conference contests

Minnesota will open their Big Ten schedule at home versus NCAA tournament runner-up Michigan Thursday 1/2. They play Purdue at home 1/5 before going on the road to Penn State 1/8 to face the Nittany Lions and Minnesota natives Ross Travis of Chaska & Edina's Graham Woodward.

The schedule looks better than last year. The Gophers play Indiana and Illinois only at home and Michigan State and Nebraska only on the road. They have home and home series with the other seven Big Ten teams.

I think you're being a bit dramatic. It's not an easy stretch, but it still includes home games with Penn State, Iowa and Illinois and a road game with Northwestern. It shouldn't be impossible to win 3 of the 8.

I literally have no clue how this season is going to go. I look at that schedule and I immediately think 8-10 ish. But I just have no idea what Pitino is going to do for us. If some guys who seemed rigid before respond well to his new style, we could surprise.
