The Gophers are No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings. Following a 38-22 victory over Northwestern, Minnesota moved up two spots. A win over No. 12 Wisconsin this week would likely catapult the Gophers even higher. On Saturday, Paul Bunyan’s Axe, a Big Ten West Championship, and major bowl games are at stake. Not only that, but Minnesota would still have a strong chance at consideration for the College Football Playoff.

Pretty much all the analysts agreed Minnesota controls its own destiny. I was hoping 12. Wisconsin would get up to 10 to have a top 10 matchup Saturday.

Take care of business and we should go as high as #6 for a match-up with OSU.

If we win and jump to #6, that puts us in perfect position to jump into top 4 if we can pull off a win against OSU. Which is what I’m guessing the committee is setting it up for.

If we beat OSU, I would argue for #3, but settle for #4.
Big Ten Champ should be above Pac12 and Big 12 Champs this year if they have the same number of losses.

I would say ACC too but Clemson will be undefeated. Clemson has walked blindly to where they are today.

Clemson is really hard to gauge because the ACC is so weak. Give credit to Clemson for only having the one close game however.
