I am not on the Basketball forum enough to know of changes in season ticket holders since lets say 2015... Although my Father (UMN Grad) and my Mother (UST Grad) for years have has season tickets to and attended gophers basketball games. They loved it, Barn was fun up until about covid. This year, with the building of Lee and Penny arena they have dumped their gopher hoops tickets and have purchased UST MBB season tickets along with a few other couples they attend with. Just this small example I think shows the long lasting impact these last 5 years will have on gopher basketball. Maybe Niko can make us good in 2-4 years, but it will take abother 2-4 years after that to get fans truly to believe in my opinion. Just really sad to see as their kid who loves gopher MBB. Thoughts?

This board is going to be very upset with your take, you're not supposed to talk about UST over here. You can talk about Shadeur Sanders, politics, Tom Izzo and Chili's mozzarella sticks but any discussion of UST is highly frowned upon. Even though they are a D1 team 10 blocks away from Williams Arena, they are the same as SE Utah College of Minds, except, people are okay with talking about SE Utah College of Minds.

That said, I don't disagree with your take.

I don't think UST has anything to do with it, but he's not wrong about the death of Gopher basketball.

BTW, I called Niko a "meh" hire the day it happened. If anything, I might have overrated the hire.

Look at this board...arguably the hangout of the most dedicated, enthusiastic and engaged Gopher fans anywhere... place is a ghost town a month into his first season. With the
B1G opener on hand no less.

I told you OP. Even if you're talking about St. Thomas in the context of Gopher basketball, it's highly frowned upon. It's about the only subject that you cannot discuss on this forum.

Students were out for the last home game.. UST season ticket sales are up 400%… but they have a long way to go… it will interesting to see what happens going forward…
