per Dustin:

The trash talk about the B1G’s new and revised 2020 schedule has already begun. The schedule hadn’t even been out an hour before it started.

Michigan defensive lineman Kwity Paye was quick to chime in on the schedule following its release on Saturday. After seeing the schedule, something stood out to the Wolverines star — he thinks Ohio State got the easiest schedule in the B1G.

“They gave them boys the easiest schedule,” Paye wrote on Twitter.

No, Paye did not mention Ohio State by name, but it was pretty clear who he was talking about. The Buckeyes have a cross-division schedule against Nebraska and Illinois, with those two squads finished 5-7 and 6-7 last fall, respectively.

Go Gophers!!

If I were Michigan I'd worry about Minnesota too!

With only two crossover games....every team has a good shot to win their division. If Michigan loses at least one of their crossovers and deliver OSU their ONLY loss....they'll have a gripe.

Michigan does have a tough crossover with the Gophers and Badgers.

Never in the history of the big ten has a team that had the best division record been left out of the championship game been left out of a championship game because of crossovers.

How would it be possible for a team with the best division record to have been left out of the championship game -- therefore requiring they did not have the best conference record in the division -- without crossover games having any effect?

That seems impossible.

Also, "best" usually doesn't include "tied for best".

As far as I can tell, the B1G took the previously-announced 10 game conference schedule and just lopped off two cross-over games for each team.

gophers lost cross-overs with Michigan State and Indiana. Nebraska lost cross-overs with Rutgers and Michigan State. Nebraska was scheduled to play OSU and PSU, and they're still scheduled to play them.

Ergo, the Nebraska Schedule is not more difficult than it was before. they just lost two games that might have been more winnable, but they still have to face the teams they were scheduled to play before.

The Big Ten just kept the "permanent" crossovers which were all West @ East and the East @ West crossover from the original schedule, right? Keeping games from the original schedule was the fair way of doing it. They had to keep the East @ West game to keep the schedules even. I guess they could have chosen to keep the non-permanent West @ East instead of the permanent crossover and maybe they picked the one that was easier for Ohio State to give the best chance at having a team in the playoff (Ohio State keeps Nebraska instead of Iowa) but it's not like they completely made up new crossovers for the new schedule.

Michigan gets Nebraska and Ohio State gets Wisconsin in the next round of permanent crossovers starting in 2022 so Michigan should have an easier schedule than Ohio State for most or all of that 6 year period. I'm sure they won't be complaining if they win the division when Ohio State would have won if not for the permanent crossover games.

B1G wants a team in the playoff, so they set up Ohio State, is anyone surprised? If the Gophers aren't there and this doesn't really affect their chances then I will always root for another B1G team if thats the Buckeyes so be it. I might not be so pumped if the Gophers were in the East tho....
