He's a good coordinator, but Maryland should pick up Bo Pelini.
Bo seems like a bully and a "d**k".
Has there ever been another coach that was fired from an NFL team and major college team before they turned 40? I don't think it is a bad idea for someone to give him another chance but think it may be a bit early.

Pelini went to Youngstown State because he was getting burnt out being on the big stage. He said he had many sleepless nights at Nebraska that kept him up wondering if all the stress that comes with running a p5 program was worth it anymore. At Youngstown he can coach without having delusional fans constantly calling for his head. Maybe he comes back to a p5 school in a few years, but personally I think Nebraska was his last big HC stop.
Also I believe he wanted to hang out with his family more. I believe his kids were getting close to "off to college" age and he wanted more time with them.
I bet he comes back after the kids are gone for a bit.
Yeah. That's his hometown team, and Pelini's situation is somewhat unique in that he's still getting paid all that $$$ by Nebraska, so the step-down in pay is not really all that relevant for him. It's kind of a dream situation for him like that. If I were a head coach and got the opportunity to coach in the town where I was born, raised, and graduated from high school, and money was not at all an issue, then yeah, I'd definitely want to do that for at least a few years. It would be something enjoyable, especially after the hell that coaching Nebraska must be.
He also gets to hang out with Jim Jim Tressel back home too. Jim is Youngstown's President. Pelini didn't like his previous AD, I'm sure he has no lack of support from Jim
I agree Nebraska seems like a special kind of difficult to coach in. Lots of fans who think the 1990s are just one coach away.... a hyper microscope on you and your players there.
I look forward to Bo coming back years from now. I'd hire him.
