Welcome back to reality, everyone.

We won games we didn't deserve to win. Today we lost one we deserved to lose.

Wins are a team effort. Today's loss was a team effort.

I still think the Gophers have a good shot at bringing home Floyd and the Ax. Time to put this one behind us and use it as a wake up call. Lets work on improving for the stretch run and getting into a good bowl game still.

Hard to blame one player or coach in any game...especially this one. The game wasn't lost on one play or player. Personally, I think a lot of players read too much ch of the hype. Really sloppy on both sides.

I can see Floyd, give us about a 5% shot of taking the Ax.

Well said, Doc. All around team loss.

This one is particularly painful. To lose to a last place in the conference team! It just destroys the possibility of a 9-3 season. It can still happen but the probability for me has dropped from 70% chance to a 25% chance.

Yup, I agree completely. Defense let the team down early with missed tackles and zero pass rush. Offense was obviously atrocious early and then turned the ball over twice in the 2nd half. Special teams missed a FG and delivered two poor punts. Coaching left a ton to be desired. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if the towel boy was sub-par today...it was just that kind of day. It's disappointing in year 4 of the regime (and amidst an awesome start to the year and increasing expectations), but it's the kind of loss that happens to an average/above-average team from time to time. Sad.

Yup. Now I know how Iowa fans felt when they lost to us two years in a row not long ago. They had 7 and 8 win teams I believe, and they dropped games to horrendous MN teams. **** happens when you're an average program with an offense that's, *ahem*, less than dynamic. Bummer.

I never believed the Gophers were very good, but I thought with a weak schedule and the Big Ten being really down we could play on Jan 1st somewhere? Hard to get excited about Detroit or Houston again.

And with us being not very good and the conference so weak wha do think a Jan 1 bowl game would look like?

We're not playing on Jan 1 now. We'll be playing in our usual low end bowl game that no team would travel to listening to pundits talk about the fact we got overlooked because we don't travel.

Outback bowl is out pending a 3-1 finish with that loss not being Nebraska.

Holiday Bowl still in play with a 2-2 finish but might be a bit of a stretch or might be San Fran bowl.

Garbage bowl for sure if we go 1-3 or 0-4.

I'd be delirious if we go 8 and 4. The only way that has any hope to happen is beating Iowa.

Completely agree and correct.

Still waiting on this team to win a big game. Beating a now 3-5 Michigan team was not a big win. Let's see this team take out OSU, Wisky or Nebraska. Winning 2 of those 3 games would actually make me think this team has turned the corner. Doing so would also put us in good position for a Jan. Bowl game.
