I'm sure you have heard of the Bermuda Triangle, but there is a new geometric area of doom to consider.

This rectangle appears near the Gopher sideline in TCF and extends from the 50 yard line to the 45 yard line on the west side. Like the Bermuda Triangle, it usually is meaningless, but it has proven to be a disaster at least once per year for opposing teams.

It has already clamed Air Force and Iowa. Both were in the fourth quarter trying to drive for the go-ahead score. Perhaps it is some sort of vortex that only opens in the fourth quarter.

Funny you should mention that. I was thinking it was the same area of the field as the AFA fumble.

In the case of Air Force, you may remember the quarterback was distracted and turned to look for a phantom teammate just prior to losing the football. In the case of Iowa, you may recall the running back was actually supposed to run left, but was somehow drawn to the rectangle despite the design of the play he was running.

Just wait until a Badger player becomes disoriented at a future game, runs the opposite direction for a Minnesota safety and then reports thinking he had been in swirling clouds for several hours.
