My apologies if this was mentioned earlier. I tend to miss out on the message boards for most of the weekend every week so I miss out on a lot of good discussion.

Anyway, for what it is worth... has anyone else looked closely at the Campbell blocked field goal? I was looking at it in slow mo with tivo and I could swear the "block" actually was performed by the helmet of the Purdue blocker. Campbell was right there but the Purdue lineman's helmet jerks forward just as the ball gets there (very much like the JFK assassination film :)). Anyway, it doesn't matter either way but I think it was a combo of a very low kick and a lineman that got pushed too far back, too quickly.

I need to review the tape....er...file?....they never did give a good replay angle. I'll take your word for it....just like Jacobs "sack" ..pushing their guy into do the work for us...works for me.

It's embarrassing to say...but kudos to BPT for not DROPPING the ball on the way to the endzone. Remember another #15 struggling with this against Purdue.

That was easily the biggest WTF moment of that year. You had to laugh it was so strange.

I was literally screaming obscenities about not fumbling at Sherels all the way to the end zone on Axe weekend. The way that game was, ugh. I just gave myself a flashback ulcer. I don't even know what that is.

I have to admit I was screaming for him to fall on it, but after I thought about it for a moment I realized it would be our ball anyway since it was fourth down (provided Purdue didn't scoop it up and run back that other way). It was a sweet scoop.

Checked it out on the DVR and agree that the ball is blocked by #73's head. He gets smacked right in the side head with the ball.

I just saw that clip on yahoo. A tough way to lose and one the gopher's have yet to pull off (knock on wood). Adding to the bitterness of the defeat is the fact that the holder's knee is down when he picks up the ball after the block. The play should have ended then and there.

I noticed the same thing. Terrible call.

Edit: Even worse, the winning team had too many men on the field. After the block, I saw at least one player walk a good 5 yards onto the field.
