As terrible as these injuries this year have been for our starting lines, and making us pull redshirts that we didn't want to I see two benefits that have come out of them:

1. Some of the backups/redshirts have shown a lot of talent, and toughness, which I think bodes well for next season paired with
2. Backups/redshirts having game experience, which I think will make the competition to become a starter harder, which means better starters (knock on wood) and less of a talent/experience/play level gap if someone is injured.

Anyone agree? Disagree? I am in no way a football expert.

I think you're right; some of the young guys have really stepped up - providing some depth of experience for next year. Also, we don't have to play Michigan, Ohio State, TCU or Michigan State!

You are correct. The depth chart should be more experienced next season.

I'm just excited to get (hopefully) a fifth year from D Travis. Our secondary should look pretty good again next year.

I'm excited about next year. We hopefully gained a lot of depth as a result of the injuries, we have an immensely easier schedule, and we'll hopefully get a couple guys back for fifth years.

If Mitch continues to play like he has the past few games, Brooks stays healthy, a receiver or two steps up along with a tight, throw in the depth created by so many players getting quality playing time plus a solid recruiting class this year, next year could be special.
