per The Athletic:

Somewhere around the 13:25 mark in the second quarter on Saturday, when Tanner Morgan’s pass tipped off the outstretched fingers of Tyler Johnson and landed in the arms of Rashod Bateman for a 20-yard gain and a first down, it became clear that this charmed season was two weeks away from the biggest Gophers football game in the lifetime of anyone under — to be conservative — 50 years old.

Two plays later, Morgan completed about the easiest touchdown pass one could ask for, paying Johnson back for his assist to Bateman with a 16-yarder right up the middle after Johnson’s defender lost his footing. The 17th-ranked Gophers were up 21-0 against an overmatched Maryland team and on their way to a 52-10 drubbing and their first 8-0 start since 1941.

Meanwhile, right about the same time in East Lansing, No. 6 Penn State scored a second touchdown to go up 13-0 on Michigan State. The Nittany Lions would also cruise to a 28-7 win, setting up a clash of two 8-0...

Go Gophers!!

Naturally, they highlight the tipped pass and how "easy" the win was. Paint the picture to make it look as if the Gophers were somehow lucky to beat a pedestrian Maryland team.

Please.

The reality: the Gophers dominated, exactly as they should have. In the interest of journalistic integrity, why not just come out and say it? Minnesota is a really good team. As is Penn State.

A clash of powerhouse teams.

Don’t you just LOVE the backhanded compliments and total slighting the Gophers get from sports writers? It’s f’ing bull****. They can keep it up though, they’ll be eating their words.

The headline photo for the article is great.
