We're in the First Four Out currently.....as of Friday 11:40 PM

As we ALL know it should be Last Four Out.

Nebraska is also in the first four out. No way in hell will they be left out. If they're not in, Gophers won't be either, absent a nice run in the BTT.

Sure Nebraska could be left out, they are 18-11 with their third best win from an RPI perspective being a Minnesota team missing its best player. It's not hard at all to envision a scenario where Nebraska loses to Wisconsin and then loses in the first round of B1G tournament to end the year at 18-13. Sometimes are own fans are harder on the Gophers than the media members. There's definitely plausible scenarios that have the Gophers in and the Huskers out on Selection Sunday without a nice run in the B1G tournament.

Agreed. Sitting in B1G country, its understandable why our fans are concluding their is no way NE gets left out.. but it could happen. They played nobody in the non conference slate and had a favorable B1G schedule. They definitely are finishing well and the MSU win is a feather in the cap. But they cannot lay an egg the last two games and expect to make the tourney. In fact, if they do not win another B1G game and the Gophers win their next two, I can see the Gophers jumping in front of them..

The good news is that we are competing with other teams, not just Nebraska. If NE wins one of their next two and we win our next 3, I would say that both will be in the tourney...

Also, Montana, Coastal Carolina, Wofford and SDSU could all realistically win their conference tourney's, any of those teams winning can only help us

Nebraska is getting far too much love from the national media right now ... no way should they be considered ahead of the Gophers in pecking order RIGHT NOW. Their SOS is weak, they've had too many ugly losses, and their key wins all have an asterisk -- MSU without Appling and Dawson, Minnesota without Hollins, Indiana without Vonleh.

That said, I think there's a good chance Nebraska beats Wisconsin at home, which (combined with a first round BTT win) rightfully would put them in the tourney.

Here's who we cheer for today.

Coastal Carolina needs to beat VMI

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi needs to beat Nicholls State

Arkansas needs to beat Alabama

New Orleans needs to beat Sam Houston State

Montana needs to beat Northern Arizona

Michigan needs to beat Indiana

Richmond needs to beat Dayton

Wofford needs to beat The Citadel

Iowa needs to beat Illinois

Plus the potential/certain bid stealers (if they should lose)

Wichita St over Missouri St
Green Bay over Milwaukee
Either Gonzaga (plays Santa Clara) or BYU (plays Loyola Marymount) needs to win the WCC this weekend

I don't think we want to cheer for Arkansas despite the very slight SOS boost it'd give us ... they are just ahead of us on the bubble. Iowa is also iffy ... they're not getting into the RPI top 25, so at this point I think we cheer for them to drop below us on the bubble.

I don't think that is possible to be honest. The only way we would be higher than them is if we make a run in the tourney and they lose right away but at that point we would be in anyways in my opinion.

it's according to palm and i trust him on the way we need it break for our rpi.

Alabama is running train on Arkansas.

That could be big. A loss there plus an early exit in the SEC would possibly mean them dropping back below the Gophers on the bubble.

The biggest game today is Richmond vs. Dayton. A Richmond wins boosts the Gophers RPI and knocks Dayton down a few spots.

Exactly. I think a loss for Arkansas really would help us more than hurt us right now. Missouri also falling off against Tennessee today. Xavier trending in the wrong direction as well.

*The cherry on top would be a Dayton loss tonight like you mentioned!

The difference of these other teams winning or losing related to our RPI is so small. Maybe move us a point at best. The better option is all these bubble teams lose because that moves them from 1 to 5-10 spots depending on who the loss is to.

Missouri getting it handed to them.
At least Missouri or Tennessee will lose today.

On a side note, the most overrate tournament team that as of this point has first been recognized as a bubble team (PITTSBURGH) is losing to Clemson. That's a good thing.
